Just to introduce myself, I live and work in Maine. I run the family logging business up here and have to be a jack of all trades to keep everything running smooth. I came over here from the CNCzone, where I have been lurking in the background trying to get pointers on running my lathe and milling machine. I have to do a lot of welding on all the equipment and am hoping that I can find answers to some of my questions here. Most of the time I am running mechanized logging equipment or driving truck. The rest of the time I spend working on everything.

I do most of my welding with an ESAB Migmaster 250. I also have a small Miller stick welder. I use a Bridgeport clone, First, milling machine and have two lathes, a 6X36 Grizzley and a 16X60 K. Martin German lathe. I also have a Bridgeport Series I CNC mill that I am trying to get running.

How much do you think the bridgeport clone would go for? I am looking to add a mill to the shop but I'm discouraged by wide range and wide prices for the same machine. Oh well thats why its called work. lol
Dan

I paid $3,000 for it five years ago. Bought it from a local machine shop when they upgraded to a VMC. Probably paid more than I could have bought it for elsewhere, but the shop owner has gone out of his way to help me learn how to use that a lathe I bought at the same time. So I guess it has been more than worth what I paid.

Your right. I didn't want to pay that much when I bought it but don't regret it now. I have gotten more than the price back help and training. Wouldn't have gotten up to speed nearly as fast without the help.
