View Full Version : BBQ/Smoker project desert born 06-14-2009, 05:29 PM These are photos of a project a friend and I are in the process building. He bought a '49 shorthood SA200 Lincoln and I offered to teach him to weld. This project is still in progress. :D desert born 06-14-2009, 05:37 PM I built the pipe jacks to handle the large diameter pipe for the project first. I also built the spurs for hinges from 1/4" plate. The pipe is 22" & 19" used oilfield pipe. 1/2" plate was used to put the flat top an the fire box for pots & pans or tortillas. 1/2" plate between the firebox & smoker/bbq. Horse shoes & the handle from a sledge hammer for door handles. I put an air vent (adjustable) in both the firebox and smoker/bbq side. The doors on the sides for the firebox and the bbq are 1/4" with a US Marshall's star for vents, but I didn't think this would give the proper air flow. And then, here's a pic of the SWEET shorthood welder. Rod1945 07-27-2009, 04:22 PM What a great project...the jack stands are monsters... Nice Project... Nice Job..
