Default Speedglas adflow helmet

Hi all,

Had a nasty experience welding galvanised steel yesterday, head aches uncontollable shaking and fever last night...not fun.

I was wondering if anyone has used the speedglas adflo powered respirator system. If so, some questions:

Do they really work well?
What is the battery life like?
Do you have to change the filters regularly?
Does the unit on your waist get in the road of things?
If welding gal steel, is it good enough or do you still need to wear a respirator?

Any other comments good or bad on this system would be appreciated, I just want some feedback from real life welders not salesmen.

Thanks in advance

Cam

have never used that but a nice partical resparator like the ones you can change the filters on (not just a dust mask) really helps. Galvinizing sucks and metal fever is the worst but I have found that after you weld on the stuff drink alot of milk.
I prefer chocolate it helps the meds go down. LOL hope this helps
